NEW YORK, Nov. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LivePerson Inc. (NASDAQ: LPSN), a leader in intelligent engagement solutions, and Feeding NYC, a local non-profit organization, today announced the upcoming 10-year anniversary of the FeedingNYC project.  LivePerson employees and over 300 FeedingNYC volunteers will mark this significant milestone on November 22, 2011 by continuing the tradition of packing and delivering Thanksgiving dinner to thousands of sheltered families in New York City's five boroughs.

In the days leading up to Thanksgiving, volunteers of FeedingNYC and friends and families of LivePerson gather to package and load boxes of food, which are then hand-delivered to shelters throughout the city, which include those partnered with Women in Need and City Harvest. Over the past ten years, more than 20,000 Thanksgiving meals have been distributed to families facing hunger during the holiday season.

"This has been a particularly difficult year, as the number of New Yorkers living under the poverty line reaches 20 percent—the highest level in a decade," said Robert LoCascio, CEO of LivePerson, Inc., who conceived FeedingNYC in 2001. "We feel that it is important to connect with local families on this special day and help them celebrate the tradition of Thanksgiving."

For the fifth year, Chelsea Piers has generously donated Pier 60 to serve as FeedingNYC's headquarters on November 22nd. Volunteers will begin packing boxes at midnight on November 21st and teams will start delivering to shelters on the afternoon of November 22nd. With the generous support of FlatRate Moving, Manhattan Mini Storage, Wegman's, Chelsea Piers, and Robin Hood Foundation, FeedingNYC will feed more than 2,500 disadvantaged families this year.

"In its first year, FeedingNYC delivered 40 meals to families in need. Last year, in partnership with Robin Hood Foundation we fed thousands of families throughout the five boroughs. It's inspiring to see how much the program has grown, thanks to the dedication and generosity of our volunteers and sponsors," continued Robert LoCascio.

FeedingNYC is sponsored by LivePerson's global corporate giving program, LivePerson Cares. Other charitable organizations supported by LivePerson Cares include Project Open Hand in Atlanta and Dawn to Dusk in the UK.
