NEW YORK, Nov. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FeedingNYC, a privately-funded, not-for-profit organization, today announced that it has garnered support from prominent local businesses to assemble and deliver complete Thanksgiving meals to more than 2,250 families in need, encompassing more than 9,000 people, throughout New York City.

Program founder LivePerson, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPSN) is joined this year by Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers, FlatRate Moving, Manhattan Mini Storage, PalTalk, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, Proskauer Rose LLP, Hitwise, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Foundation, Anchorage Capital and Bank Of America. These companies, all with significant ties to New York City, are providing either in-kind services, volunteers or cash donations to support the initiative.

Over 300 volunteers will convene at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers on Tuesday, November 24 beginning at 6:00AM to assemble, pack and hand-deliver complete Thanksgiving meals to various shelters and housing facilities throughout New York City.

Founded in 2001 by LivePerson CEO Robert LoCascio, FeedingNYC supplied turkey dinners to 40 families in its first year of operation; the annual program has since grown dramatically and the organization expects to supply complete turkey dinners to more than 2,250 families this year. FeedingNYC works with support organizations -- including Women in Need, Catholic Charities, the Jewish Federation of New York, Center Against Domestic Violence, Salvation Army, Bronx Works and Volunteers of America -- to identify facilities where it can make the greatest impact.
