LivePerson Expands Management Team with Key Industry Leaders

NEW YORK, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LivePerson, Inc. (Nasdaq: LPSN), a provider of online engagement solutions that facilitate real-time assistance and expert advice, today announced it has expanded its management team with the addition of four new members.  Each has extensive experience delivering business results for some of the world's leading companies, and will help drive the company's strategic initiatives.  

Stephen R. Douty, former executive vice president of marketing for nGenera Corporation, joins LivePerson as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.  Mr. Douty has 30 years of experience implementing innovation, entering new markets, and delivering value for some of the world's leading technology organizations.  While at nGenera, Mr. Douty led global marketing, product development and engineering initiatives.  Prior to nGenera, he founded two web-based software companies, including Octopus, Inc., an award-winning, scalable content aggregation service which was sold to Ask Jeeves in 2002.  He has also held executive positions at Hotmail, Microsoft, Tricord Systems and AT&T Paradyne.  Mr. Douty holds a B.A. in Math and Computer Science from Dartmouth College.  

Peter K. Phillips, a former senior vice president at Weight Watchers International, Inc., will serve as Executive Vice President, and will be responsible for driving the development of new interactive offerings and analytics-driven initiatives, while also managing the day-to-day operations of the consumer business.  Mr. Phillips has nearly 20 years of experience conceiving and implementing growth initiatives for leading online consumer brands, leveraging his deep understanding of online consumer behavior.  While at Weight Watchers, he was responsible for the company's $200M online division, WeightWatchers.com.  Prior to Weight Watchers, Mr. Phillips was the Vice President of Product Development at Fandango, Inc., where he led the strategic planning, development, and ongoing management of all product-related initiatives.  He oversaw the company's award-winning website, Fandango.com, Fandango's voice recognition service (1-800-FANDANGO), its TiVo application, and all mobile initiatives.  He was also a member of the executive team that helped lead its sale to Comcast Interactive Media in 2007.  Mr. Phillips has also held marketing and advertising positions at Lineup.com and Paramount Pictures Corporation.   He holds a BA in Psychology from Rice University and an M.B.A. in Marketing from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Steven Schloss, former vice president of global people development at Time Inc., will serve as Vice President of Global Human Resource for LivePerson, leading the company's people and talent management initiatives.  This includes overseeing the deployment of the company's core values initiatives.  Mr. Schloss has more than 25 years of experience as a global human resource and talent management leader and is known for his collaborative, forward thinking and innovative style.  Prior to LivePerson, Mr. Schloss served as Vice President of Global People Development and Time Inc. University at Time Warner Inc., where he led company-wide talent management, diversity, HR branding and communications and HR end-user technology.  Prior to Time Warner Inc., Mr. Schloss served as Vice President of Human Resources for Citibank.  Mr. Schloss holds a B.S. in Industrial Relations from Ithaca College, and a M.S. in Human Resource Management from Milano, The New School of Management and Urban Policy where he also serves as a member of the graduate faculty. 

Mark Trang, former head of global partner programs and AppExchange marketing for Salesforce.com, will serve as Vice President of Platform Technologies and Ecosystem at LivePerson.  While at Salesforce.com, Mr. Trang oversaw partner-facing programs and marketing initiatives and launched the Force.com platform as well as AppExchange. During his tenure, the company's ecosystem grew to more than 3,000 partners, 250,000 developers and 1,000 solutions available in the AppExchange marketplace.   Prior to Salesforce.com, Mr. Trang held senior product management and technology consulting roles at Deloitte Consulting, SupplyAccess, and CogentWare. Mr. Trang holds a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA, and an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship and Finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
